Physio Care for Your Recovery

Here’s What You Can Expect

I Want to Help You Restore Balance, Ease Discomfort, and Improve Your Overall Well-Being

At your first physiotherapy appointment, my goal is to understand not just your sumptoms, but how your body as a whole is functioning.

Physiotherapy First Visit

Consultation & Assessment

I’ll start by asking about your symptoms and medical history, but also about your lifestyle, stress levels, sleep, and daily habits. I believe your body’s health is influenced by all aspects of your life, so this helps me understand the bigger picture and identify any factors that might be contributing to your discomfort.

Movement & Body Awareness

I’ll guide you through simple movements to see how your body is moving and where it might be restricted, or misaligned. I will also perform specific tests (muscle testing, joint mobility and neurological function) related to your injury or condition to achieve a diagnosis. This isn’t just about pain—it’s about understanding your posture, muscle balance, and any patterns that might be impacting your mobility and well-being.

Treatment Plan

Based on what I find, we’ll work together on a personalized plan to support your healing. This may include:

  • Hands-on therapy (e.g., gentle joint mobilizations or soft tissue work) to release tension and improve flow
  • Strengthening or mobility exercises to restore balance and prevent future issues
  • Modalities (e.g., heat, NMES, TENS, Acupuncture) to compliment the manual therapy and exercise program, adding further improvement to your condition and symptoms
  • Lifestyle adjustments like posture tips or daily routines to support long-term health

Setting Goals

I’ll help you set achievable, meaningful goals—not just around reducing pain, but also improving your energy, movement, and overall quality of life.

These goals will reflect your whole-body health, including mental and emotional well-being.

Ongoing Support & Education

You’ll have time to ask any questions, and I’ll share guidance on how to take care of yourself between appointments.

Healing is a process, and I’ll be here to support you as we move forward.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable, flexible clothing
  • Any relevant medical records or imaging
  • An open mind—healing is as much about connection as it is about treatment

After Your Appointment

You might feel some mild soreness, but this is part of releasing tension and restoring your body’s balance. Doing your home exercises will help speed up recovery, and regular follow-ups will allow us to adjust as you progress.

This first visit is about understanding your body as a whole and creating a healing path that addresses all aspects of your well-being. I’m here to support you in making lasting changes that help you feel better, move better, and live better.
